Friendly Door of Iowa Park

…Linda White and her husband have been members of the Friendly Door for many years. They enjoy coming to the center for fellowship and lunch with their peers. Linda is an active member of the Friendly Door board and loves helping others. She delivers Meals on Wheels daily. The joy she brings to our homebound members is indescribable. Seniors face many traumatic difficulties as they age, and loneliness is among the worst.  Loneliness and feelings of worthlessness can directly be attributed to depression, lowered self-esteem, and illness. Linda also volunteers to do craft class for others who want to get out and be more active. Her biggest joy is knowing she is making a difference in someone’s life within our community.

The Friendly Door provides multiple services and many fellowship opportunities in a faith based atmosphere that allow seniors an excellent way to stay active and involved in their community. Our mission is to make a difference in the fight to end senior hunger by making sure no senior goes hungry in the Iowa Park Community. Every aspect of the center is designed to insure our clients remain independent longer with the best quality of life possible.
