Friendly Door of Iowa Park
…Jim is the MVP of the Friendly Door. He and his wife Lou have been members for over 17 years and Jim has delivered Meals on Wheels for 15 years. On top of that he volunteers to take care of all their recycling and helps with fundraisers. Six years ago, when they were looking for a new van driver for their transportation service – Jim stepped up and took the job. During the pandemic, Jim kept the van going delivering Meals on Wheels and taking homebound clients to appointments or wherever they needed to go. Shortly after the pandemic began, the Friendly Door received a new van which was greatly needed and it is equipped with a lift chair for those who need help. Jim finds great joy in helping others.
