Straight Street
… Monique’s life wasn’t just a struggle—it was a battlefield. Anger was her constant companion, erupting in fists and reckless choices that left scars. By 24, she’ll admit she spent years ignoring the voices trying to guide her, too stubborn to see the power of listening or leading by example. BUT…Straight Street—a lifeline she didn’t know she needed until it changed everything. It started as a refuge in her chaotic teen years, a place that offered more than a meal but HOPE and the Possibility of REAL Change that can come with Good Choices. It was the first time she felt truly seen—by people who didn’t just pity her but believed she could rise above the wreckage of her past. They taught her a truth she’d never dared to trust: no matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done, you’re worthy of love, respect, and a shot at something better. When the odds tower over her(still) – she levels up and whispers to herself “I want more.” Not just for her, but because the mentors who refused to give up on her want it for her too. Straight Street didn’t just help pull her through; it led her to GOD, showing her HIS unconditional love in a way she could finally feel and BELIEVE. Those people—her anchors, her believers—became a Real-Life SAFE PLACE.

Straight Street is our local mission field. It was birthed out of gang violence, and is creating change in the lives of young people in our community.
The mission and purpose of Straight Street is to provide a SAFE Christian environment where “at-risk” youth can obtain the necessary skills and training needed to mature and discover God’s divine plan for their lives.
For our purposes, an “at-risk” youth is a young person between the ages of 11 and 18 years old who is behaving in such a way that if a caring adult does not step into their life with some help, there is a high likelihood they will hurt themselves or someone else.
